A little preventive maintenance right now goes a long way folks! Some things to remember since we've all been putting our machines to work this past month or so...... Wind bobbins at half speed. Winding bobbins at full speed causes issues ... bobbins stretch, get stuck on winders and in general high speed bobbin winding can be problematic. Change your needle often and use the right needle. Making pleated masks? Try a denim, topstitch or microtex/sharp needle, in that order. Universal needles are nice but will encounter a lot of resistance with the pleats. And change it every 6-8 hours of stitching. Clean out your machine! Take out the bobbin case, and clean underneath. Be sure to check for lint build up around your feed dogs, too. (I had a customer with so much lint her needle plate was moving on every stitch.) Use your vac attachments if you’ve got them. Canned air is a no-no, it blows dust and lint further IN. And once this is all over, treat your machine to a spa day with our service departments. Come to think of it, treat yourself to a spa day too!
