**Update** Sgt. Joe Iachetta and his K9 partner were traveling on Central ave in Colonie early this morning when they collided with a tractor trailer. The sgt w...as pinned in his vehicle unconscious for 30-40 minutes until he was extricated by Colonie Fire and Midway Fire. I cant thank the fire departments enough for getting him out. I also want to thank Colonie EMS and Colonie PD. If I missed any agencies I’m sorry but grateful for your assistance. As I write this, Joe is undergoing a lengthy surgery and is expected to have more surgery tonight. Joe is a 7 year veteran and lives in Colonie with his wife and child. They are expecting their second child in a few weeks. K9 Rice was uninjured in the collision. Please keep Joe in your prayers. He will have a long recovery ahead of him! See more
