Reminder to take your BSA Youth Protection Training (YPT) During this period of enforced inactivity, member training is available for those who want to be prepa...red to carry out the Coast Guard’s recreational boating safety mission with the Sea Scouts. The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) offers online training to Auxiliarists who are or will be working with Sea Scouts. The Coast Guard is strongly encouraging Auxiliarists who work with Sea Scouts to take Youth Protection Training (YPT). This training is required for anyone who works with Sea Scouts regularly, which means having contact with a Sea Scout youth at least once a year. It is also required for certain elected and staff officers of flotillas and divisions that charter Sea Scout Ships. Free Youth Protection Training is available online at: https://my.scouting.org . Additional information about YPT is available at https://www.scouting.org/training/youth-protection/ . When you have completed YPT, give your Flotilla Commander a copy of your completion certificate. They will send it in to your DIRAUX so that it can be added to your AUXDATA training record. Other BSA training courses on my.scouting.org that are recommended for Auxiliarists are: Sea Scout Adult Leader Basic Training (find in the Sea Scouts section) Safe Swim Defense, Safety Afloat, and Hazardous Weather Training (find in the Expanded Learning section, Program Safety sub-section) Additional information about Sea Scout adult training is available on the Sea Scouts BSA website at https://seascout.org/adult-training/
