Shoot for the Moon Images & Product Shop

On December 11, 2013 I took this photo on a frozen pier in Irondequoit, NY in negative wind chill... this image literally changed my photography business, it was my first time ever seeing a wild Snowy Owl, and it truly made me believe the quote about being at the right place at the right time (with the right camera equipment)! I still wish this was a Barn Owl (my favorite type of Owl!), but I can let that slide, lol! After I posted this on my Facebook Fan Page when I got ho...me from photographing it, it went viral with immediately over 4,000 likes, 500 comments, 400 shares and I was contacted by our local Newspaper and TV News Stations to do stories on me and this picture! I have sold over 350 prints/products featuring this image in my Fine Art America store where it has been viewed almost 32,000 times! Crazy! Last night (around 5pm) the fog in our area of Greece, New York was AWESOME!! We rarely get heavy fog like that and it was hanging around a very long time... there was just NO WAY I could stay inside with that amazing fog happening outside... I was on borrowed time before nightfall... I had about an hour to hit the scenic areas closest to my house... when I came across these swans I was swooning! You could barely see them through the thick mist, and all of a sudden as I was photographing the ones swimming around, 2 flew into the frame - one landed and one kept flying and I am shocked they are in focus, because I could not see anything, lol! I actually got quite a few with them both in the frame (and others in the background) but this was my favorite! I hope you like it, too! Feel free to share!
