Attn boaters! The SLA was informed that the lake water level is low because of an issue with the gate. Statement from a village Official - ... "The village responded immediately to lessen the amount of water flowing through the dam, getting it down to about 3 cfs, I believe. As I said today, new gates have been ordered and will be installed as soon as they are picked up from the manufacturer in Baltimore. In the meantime, Marlos and interim DPW superintendent Jeff Drain are monitoring the dam to ensure the temporary fix continues to keep flow no higher than it is". Please get the word out to all residents that may have an issue with getting their boat and hoists out of the water. SLA will be attending a Village meeting and will pass on any new available information.

Hoping all of you have a great off season and we hope to see everyone back next spring. Maybe this will help you to justify the price we pay. Not just the yearly price but our overall price we have paid for our places. We had to choose to buy the trailer, doesn't matter if it was $1,000 or $60,000 it was money we spent hoping for a return. The return that we want is not a financial return but we want a quality of life return. We want a place to come to where we can get togeth...er with our friends and neighbors to socialize, eat, have fun and enjoy lake and camp life.So we need to ask ourselves, Are we getting a return on our investment? We all have to evaluate the situation, examine our priorities and weigh out our wants vs. needs We all need to be able to unwind and relax. Many disabilities can cause a stimulation overload. When this happens with us we need to calm all the noise. Things that work for us are moving to a quiet place. Low lighting. Knowing that I am being protected by friends or family and familiarity, being placed either physically or mentally in a place that I am familiar with and that I find comfort in. This video sends all those messages. This is taken from our deck on Sliver Lake. The sun had already descended beyond the hills creating a beautiful, peaceful sky. Our place of family, friends, fun, and relaxation.
