Rising from the piers of an old interstate highway, the Providence River Pedestrian Bridge spans more than 500 ft to connect two neighborhoods. We worked closely with the designers, inFORM studio, to develop the sinuous wooden cladding system that wraps around both sides of this multi-level infrastructure project. As part of a large expansion at the Joel Braverman High School in Brooklyn, Dattner Architects designed a monumental canopy for the school’s new BenHaim Bet Midrash. Conceived as a continuous wooden lattice suspended from 20-foot ceilings, we helped the architects design unique connection details and develop inconspicuous steel joints concealed within the wood itself. To create the structure, we fabricated and installed more than 50, ten-foot by five-foot sections of interl...ocking beams. The project’s gentle curvature creates a sense of warmth and character within a large-scale space. Read more with the link below.

At Forty Five Ten's new flagship store in Hudson Yards, we fabricated a suite of polished fitting rooms using thermoformed solid surface material. With our passion for materiality and craft, we helped architects 5G Studio Collaborative achieve their vision for a highly curated retail experience. Almost one year ago, we completed a stack lamination project using Accoya Wooda material we had never worked with before and one of the first large-scale uses of this engineered lumber in the U.S. Next week, we’ll be speaking about our fabrication process at the NYC Facades+ conference, alongside the project's design team Studio V and other material innovators. Our workshop starts at 9 am on Friday, April 4. Use the link below to register and earn 4 AIA HSW CEUs!... http://facadesplus.com/nyc/ (photo by Raimund Koch)

Today is the last day to catch Autumn (...Nothing Personal) at Harvard Yard. Teresita Fernandez's public art installation creates a new site for dialogue and performance, encircling the yard's Tercentenary Theatre with seating and dozens of colorful screens. We helped to design-engineer and fabricate each component, including hundreds of custom-extruded polycarbonate tubes that make up the translucent screens and illuminate by night. Check it out in person today and learn more at: http://autumnnothingpersonal.arts.harvard.edu/ #autumnnothingpersonal Harvard University

We recently helped Studio V create a striking redesign of the entrance and lobby of Helena 57 West, a residential tower in Hell’s Kitchen. The project features a monumental wooden canopy which arches upward from a sculptural bench-like fixture located along the lobby’s far wall. Sweeping back across the ceiling, the canopy pierces the building envelope to form a portico over the entryway. Find out more about the process and materials at our website: https://situ.nyc/fabrication/projects/helena-57-west-lobby Special thanks to our clients and team! Our recent project with Marpillero Pollak Architects and PLANT Construction is soaking up sun on the rooftop terrace of a private West Village residence. We fabricated a pair of sculptural seating fixtures, spanning 12 feet of custom hardwood and blackened steel.
