Southern Tier Outdoor Show

Dear Southern Tier Outdoor Show Supporters: It is with deep regret that the board of the Southern Tier Outdoor show recently voted to dissolve our show’s nonprofit organization and stop producing the show. We have had a great run over 13 years, but current times are making it difficult to continue producing a quality show. When we began, we were a fresh face in the community that generated a lot of excitement in the outdoor arena, but as each year progresses it is harder and ...harder to keep adding new vendors, sponsors and activities to the mix in order to keep the show fresh...and in the black! 2019 proved to be very challenging to the show coordinators, and we decided to close the show rather than put on future shows with less than desirable outcomes. We want to express our deep appreciation to the many vendors who have spent time with us for several of the 13 years. Many of you feel like family to us now, and we will miss the annual get together. We have also had many faithful sponsors over the years, and we could never have accomplished 13 wonderful events without your support. The list is long of those who have helped us in everything from putting water in the fishing pond, providing seminars, volunteering at the show, promoting the event, and so much more. It definitely became a community event, and we thank everyone involved with the effort. We especially thank the community for coming out to the show and enjoying what we put together for you. We do hope we have provided some good education and products for sportsmen, encouraged kids to enjoy a number of outdoor activities, and entertained families with our wildlife shows. We drew people to Steuben County from all across the country. Thank you for making our show a huge success for 13 great years! 2019 Steuben County Outdoor Show Turkey Calling Contest results! There were 22 contestants from NY (including Adirondacks), PA, and VT. On Sunday, October 13, 2019, the Cohocton Valley Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation held their Third Annual NWTF Turkey Calling Contest during the Steuben County Outdoor Show at the Bath Fairgrounds. Competitions included Poults (age 10 and under) and NWTF sanctioned contests for Jakes (age 11-15), Intermediate (age 16-20), and all ages Amateur, Open, and Friction. The contest was sponsored by the Steuben County Federation of Conservation Clubs, Bath Tractor Supply, and the Cohocton Valley Chapter of NWTF. Plaques were awarded for 1st place in each division and cash prizes were awarded based on registrations for Jakes, Intermediate, Amateur, Open, and Friction divisions. Sutton Carhart of Hornell looks pretty happy after winning the Henry gun raffle at the show last weekend! Congratulations, and thanks to everyone who took a chance! Special thanks to the Finger Lakes NRA Chapter who helped us sell our tickets when their raffle tickets sold out.
