Each year in October, STA supports the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) in recognizing #NationalSchoolBusSafetyWeek. The NAPT’s 2020 theme, ...Red Lights Mean STOP!, illustrates how everyone has a role in student and school bus safety. This year, while safety looks a little different as COVID-19 continues to impact the school environment, STA is utilizing School Bus Safety Week to share our new COVID-19 resources for students and schools, called ‘Working Together to Stay Safe’. By accessing workingtogether.ridesta.com, visitors can learn about STA’s COVID-19 Task Force and the strategies we have put in place to protect the health of our employees, passengers, and customers while working together and remaining committed to safely transporting the students who depend on us each day. Our new program also features Resources for School Districts (workingtogether-schools.ridesta.com), including safety and cleaning protocols implemented by STA, as well as school-based, student-oriented information that may be helpful for administrators to share in classrooms or school hallways. We also have Resources for Students & Families (workingtogether-students.ridesta.com), offering bus-based information that may help students feel comfortable with the changes on the school bus this year, as well as engaging activities to encourage everyone to work together to stay safe. STA understands the importance of having a roadmap in place to continually identify, address, and implement changes to the areas of our services that continue to be impacted by the health pandemic.
