ALL SOULS NOVENA - If you haven't already considered sending in the names of your deceased loved ones for our All Saul's Novena, you can do so by picking up an envelope at the back of church and return it with the names of your loved ones and an offering or you can do it even more easily right here online. https://www.stbernardchurch.org/n/458-father-s-day-novena-2 We will place all names received at the altar for the nine Masses in memory of those who have died, On Monday, November 2nd we are adding an evening Mass at 7:30 for those who wish to attend Mass that day --this is in addition to our regular 8am Mass.
Tuesday, Dec. 8 is the FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY. Although the joyful obligation to attend this feast day Mass is suspended this year, we offer you the opportunity to join us either in person (masks, distancing) or online at 8 am, 12 noon, or 7:30 pm. Note there is no Mass the evening before. To view the livestream or recording: www.stbernardchurch.org/streaming
HERE'S TODAY'S ALL SAINTS DAY PEP TALK from Father Mike Schmitz. We continue to get ready for All Hallows Eve, All Saints Day and All Souls Day. Spend a few minutes with Father Mike - you just have to remember to listen carefully because he talks really fast! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mad1Jgf0jow&t=30s
We apologize for another streaming glitch; we are aware that the 10 am Mass is not streaming live. We encourage you to view the recording of the 8 am Mass, as the video homily has an important message regarding Christmas Mass attendance!

JESUS' PEOPLE WERE ANXIOUS AND WEARY. We can certainly relate. But they trusted the promises of long ago that their God would send prophets, like John the Baptist, to bring words of comfort and hope, and to prepare the way for a divine Shepherd - who is also one of us - to show us the way forward. This Advent we are being reminded that he came, that he's here, and is still showing us the way. How will you follow? Masses are Sat. at 5 and Sunday at 8, 10, and 12. Masks and distancing are required. All Masses are live-streamed; tune into the Sunday 10 am for the best live-stream experience.
THIS WEEK IS ALL HALLOWS EVE (aka Halloween) and the day that gives it its meaning - ALL SAINTS DAY (November 1 - celebrated on Sunday this year). This week our Facebook page will look at some things we can learn about these days to apply to our lives. Let's start with this simple lesson for kids - of all ages. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcPXns6gilk
The 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time
ACCORDING TO JESUS, IT'S EVERYTHING: Love God passionately, and love your neighbor as you love yourself. Sound so simple and right - but as we all know, it's not so easy. But imagine a world where this was so! And imagine what step you can take in your own life to make it more so. All of us can do it, and every small, simple act of love or understanding; every time we step back from condemning or accusing others brings the world a step closer, and brings peace and relief to our souls. Come consider your next step this weekend at Mass: Saturday at 5 or Sunday at 8, 10 or 12. Masks and distancing required. The Sunday 10 am Mass is live-streamed on this page.

PROFOUND AND BEAUTIFUL TEACHING in Pope Francis' new encyclical. In Fratelli Tutti, the pope addresses the challenges facing our world and how Christians and all people of good will are called to join together to address them so that God's Kingdom may reign on earth. https://licatholic.org/pope-francis-teaching-in-new-encycl/
