October 6th is German-American Day. Wear your colors proudly!
Cudos to the German-American Committee of Greater NY and the German-American Steuben Parade for a terrific job presenting this year's Steuben Parade in a virtual format. Ending with a Japanese Yodeler/Accordionist performing from Germany was a wonderful surprise!
May 19, 2020, marks the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Steuben Society of America. Attached is a photo from the Silver Anniversary Founders Day Banquet at the Biltmore Hotel in NYC in 1944. Also attached is a photo from last year's Centennial Founders Day Banquet held at West Point Military Academy.
During this time of "social distancing," Randy Ratje dug out an old strategy game about the Battle of Monmouth. It starts with General von Steuben and his scouts being spotted by Major Simcoe of the Queen's Rangers.
