Steve's XC Trail Grooming

Three inches of new snow last night. Warmer temperatures give a wet surface today. No grooming until tonight at the earliest.

Last day of 2020 gave us sleet and freezing rain over night... tomorrow it will be 2021...

I rolled some of the trails. Will likely hit them again tonight when temps drop to achieve a finer comb. The pond on the blue trail is not passable. Feel free to ski out to see if you can see the beaver that has taken up residence there...

Folding saws are the best all-around tool to keep by your side while on the trail. They make quick work of small branches and allow you to cut through bigger limbs. One trick I've learned over the years is to walk the trail with the saw unfolded in my hand. This allows me to "flick" branches off the trail without bending over too often.

Walked the trails on this beautiful afternoon. Still snow and ice on parts of the Blue Trail.

Got this bad-boy for Christmas. Can't wait to use it!

As you may have guessed, we're done for the year. Thanks for coming out... wish the season could have been more typical.

We still have snow. I set some classic track out on the fairways this morning Woods are nice with some bare wet spots to work around.

Not to be a downer, but today may be the last weekend day of skiing. It's a beautiful day, come on out.
