THE CORE AND ITS RELATION TO THE BREATH This article is worth reading if you are interested in 'core strength.' Activating our 'core' isn't only contracting certain muscles, or doing certain exercises, as is popular in modern fitness culture. It has to do with the breath and coordinated movement. As with most things in yoga, it all comes back to the simplicity of breathing and moving with ease. We try to make it more complicated, but simple is the most profound! ... Why is this? I believe it is because our bodies already have innate wisdom. This wisdom is obscured by our daily stresses and habits.
