Hello everyone! Here is an update on some of the procedures that we will be implementing as we move masses back inside the church this weekend: Crowd Counting and Space Utilization: Ushers will count how many people enter into the Church. Only the front and the handicap entrances will be open. Once the church reaches the 90 people maximum capacity, then Tetreau Hall will be utilized for the Saturday 4:00PM Mass, as well as the 10:30AM and 12:00PM Sunday Masses. Tetreau Hall... will not be used until the Church reaches capacity for these masses. Wearing Masks: Ushers will make sure those entering the Church are wearing masks and if they are not they will kindly distribute masks to those without masks or will remind them to place them on while inside the Church. Live Streaming and FM Radio Broadcasting: Each mass will be broadcasted via radio on 88.1FM to any car in the parking lot to people who wish to come to mass but are not able to come inside due to health concerns. Mass will be livestreamed at 4:00PM Saturday and 10:30AM Sunday on both on YouTube and the Parish Facebook page. Those who are in their cars and cannot go inside are asked to go to the steps of the front of the church outside and line up if they wish to receive communion. Holy Communion Distribution: Communion will still be distributed in the following manner those who wish to receive on the hand will be asked to go to the front of the line and those who wish to receive on the tongue will be asked to go to the back of the line. One usher for each mass will pay attention to how many people are lined up by the front outside steps to receive communion. This usher is then to receive communion last from either Fr. Bonnici, Fr. MacDonald, or one of the deacons and then let them know that there are folks outside at the steps who wish to receive communion. Mass attendance for Religious Education Students: if you are uncomfortable with going to mass on Sunday due to health and social distancing concerns, we ask that you watch mass via livestream. For attendance to be counted, we ask that at the end of mass that is live-streamed on Saturday or Sunday, that you make a comment on Facebook or on YouTube on behalf of your child with your Mass card number, and a brief two sentence summary of the homily at the mass. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us or contact Fr. MacDonald at the parish office. Be assured of our continued prayers for you all as we begin this new transition to masses back indoors. God bless.

We are having a special mass this Wednesday, November 4th at 7:30PM in the Church for all the souls of the faithful departed, especially for those who recently died this past year and for their families. Also we will be having Ash Amnesty this Saturday, November 7th at 10:00AM. St. Mary's Church will serve as a drop off point for people who, for one reason or another, never buried their loved ones. You may simply leave them on a table in the Parish Office where we will ensure... a respectful place for them. Please affix an index card indicating the name and dates of the deceased person onto the urn. (So we’ll know who we are burying!) We’ll open up a single deep plot in the cemetery THIS SATURDAY, and bury them with prayers. Families are most welcome to join at the cemetery. There is no charge for this. Please contact the parish office for more details. Thank you. See more

The real task for each of us is to simply and humbly follow Christ...in and out of the grit of daily life, doing our duty, loving and respecting our spouses, our children, our families, and holding fast to truth no matter how difficult it may be. So, on this All Saints Day maybe we can renew our commitment to getting down to the business of centering our lives on our Savior. The rest will follow.

Friends this is beautiful...may we become chalices. During the 70s, some priests were becoming rather casual with the liturgy. One afternoon, a priest came into the soup kitchen that Dorothy Day was working at. He wanted to offer a liturgy for the homeless. He went into the kitchen and grabbed a mug to use for the chalice. Dorothy, although frustrated at the irreverent use of houseware for the liturgy, prayed throughout the mass with the priest. After the liturgy ended, she... quietly got up and started to cleanse the vessels. Then, she walked outside with the mug and a shovel. A man followed her and asked her what she was doing. It is said she kissed the mug and then buried it. She told him that it was no longer a mug, but a chalice. It was no longer suited for coffee- it had held the Blood of Christ. She didn’t want anyone to mistake it for a mug again. Once something holds the Body of Christ, it is no longer what it was. When the mug held the Blood of Christ, it changed its vocation forever. It could no longer hold anything less than Christ again. We were common mugs. Simple, functional, practical, and good people. We had a capacity to hold good things. But when Christ entered our lives, we became more. We became Chalices. We started to hold divinity Himself within our hearts. Now that we have held the Body of Christ within our bodies, we are no longer common, but rather extraordinary. May you know the transformation God has placed in your heart. May you trust that you are truly made new and be extraordinary today. Pictured: Dorothy Day holding a different mug.
