Welcome to the Strand Center for the Arts! A place where people go to get creative and experience art and entertainment at its finest. We’ve certainly changed a few things since you were here last, so come check out all the amazing newness! We’ve added our MakerSpace Suite on the 2nd floor of the Arts Center and will now offer even *MORE* new classes. That means even more opportunities to get your creative juices flowing! The addition includes our Digital Technologies Lab, a ...Music Studio, a Visual Arts Studio and a Multimedia Lab! Did you know we already have an incredible Gallery and Clay studio?! On June 11th, we’re offering a special sneak peak to the public as to just what these spaces entail. Live demos and tours of the entire campus will be offered. Due to Covid, The Strand Center For the Arts (SCA) and the City of Plattsburgh were forced to cancel the 6th Annual Downtown Plattsburgh Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting. However, Joshua Kretser, with the SCA, and Greek Life SUNY Plattsburgh students joined forces to ensure that the seventy foot Holiday Tree, on the front lawn at the SCA, would still shine bright with tens of thousands of lights for the holiday season. A huge community thank you to Taylor Rental Plattsburgh... for the donation of the Boom Lift, Tracy Vicory-Rosenquest and Christopher Rosenquest , owners of Chapter One Coffee and Tea , for financial contributions and members of Theta Nu Xi, Theta Phi Alpha, Toa Kappa Epsilon, Alpha Epsilon Phi and Theta Alpha Lambda fraterneties and sororeties for over twenty-five volunteer hours.
