As we grow closer to our first dinner & wine pairing event this Thursday, we’d like to introduce you to a special guest at Strigo who is aiding in creating the perfect wine pairings for your evening. Meet Patrizia M Furgiuele from Winebow! Patrizia Furgiuele is a first-generation Italian American, whose parents emigrated from Southern Italy in the early 1970’s and grew up in the Rochester, NY, area. Upon graduating college in the Hudson Valley from SUNY New Paltz, with a Cre...ative Arts Degree, she moved to New York City and soon found herself interested in everything wine. She began her wine journey by enrolling in the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET), a school devoted to wine education, and landed her first job with Winebow, an importer & distributor of fine wine and spirits soon after. Patrizia has been at Winebow ever since, entering her 20th year of employment in 2021. Patrizia has held several positions in the company, from wine sales representative in New York City to her current role as European Imports Territory Manager for Upstate New York and is now based once again Rochester, NY. - TO OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS We have confirmed a patron and a staff member of Strigo tested positive for COVID this past Sunday 11/1/20 and on 11/2/20 respectively. The individual originally testing positive was a patron who ate dinner upstairs on Friday night and did not use the wine dispensers. In addition, this patron was not symptomatic on Friday during service and the individual’s temperature reading at the front door was in normal ranges. ... The staff member worked Thursday 10/29/20 and has not worked since. The individual wore a mask the duration of his/her shift and continues to be asymptomatic. We continue to evaluate the service process and procedure for this coming week. We will be making some temporary changes with table placement and group size. For the next two weeks we will be asking for your support with the following: We will only accept reservations for 2 or 4 people. Tables must stay 6 feet apart and we will not push tables together for any reason. We will continue taking temperatures at the door, UV sanitizing, and surface sanitizing as we have been doing. We will be making some service and flow changes and we will make our customers aware of the changes. We will allow outside service with a max of 6 people per picnic table weather permitting. Looking outside here at the vineyard makes me think about braised meats, pasta and a nice glass of wine. Whether you're at home or you'd like to bundle up and head to the vineyard we'll be offering this dinner for 2 all week. Dinner for Two includes: Roasted Beet Salad with Toasted Walnuts, Local Chevre and a Mint Vinaigrette... Locally raised Beef Short Ribs braised in Grain Mustard, White Wine and Bone Broth. With Mushrooms, Cipollini Onions and our House Made Tagliatelle Dark Chocolate Flourless Cake with a Cranberry Coulis And of course I couldn't forget the wine component.
