I don't know if anybody remembers this but back in 2001 after the planes hit the towers there was smoke coming up from all the wreckage. This smoke continued a week after the attack. Most of the first responders were wearing masks. The head of the EPA at the time Christine Todd Whitman made a public announcement that the smoke wasn't harmful and the workers could take off their masks. There was a big headline on The daily news saying this.. many of those first responders came down with cancer. Just keep that in mind as we deal with this crisis.
