We will never forget.
Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are still seeking additional information about Donald Cristiano Jr., who was driving a white Nissan Xterra when he ...impersonated a police officer and abducted two teenage girls in Lindenhurst on February 3. He was arrested yesterday and charged with two counts of Kidnapping 2nd Degree, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, one count of Criminal Impersonation 1st Degree and one count of Luring a Child. Detectives are asking anyone who may have seen or interacted with Cristiano Jr. on February 3 to contact First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152.
A sad day for the Suffolk County Police Department and the SOA as we laid to rest LT Bob Van Zeyl. We will remain forever grateful for his many years of service to the residents of this county.

PAROLE DENIED! While 2020 has not been a good year for many reasons, we are happy to report that we will end the year on a high note. It is with great pleasure that we report that the NYS Parole Board has denied parole for the killer of Sergeant Timothy J. Henck. On behalf of the Henck family and Tim’s Suffolk County Police Department family, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to send a letter, email or completed the online form during our last two parole cam...paigns this year. I have no doubt that his killer was denied parole largely in part to the amazing outpouring of support for Tim’s family. Thank you. James Gruenfelder President
A Christmas Miracle indeed! Our thoughts and prayers are with the NYPD officer recovering from being shot in the back by a cold-blooded monster. Just another example of the dangers faced by law enforcement day in and day out. And at Christmas, when the defund the police movement is enjoying time with their families, police officers go to work, putting their lives on the line. #DefendThePolice
Our thoughts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters in the Nassau County Police Department as they mourn the loss of Detective Erick Contreras.
While those who wish to defund the police enjoy their day off, Nashville police officers working on Christmas morning answered the call. Early reports indicate that responding officers went door to door, attempting to evacuate the area and save lives before an explosion rocked the city. This incident emphasizes what we already know - how important law enforcement is! We are grateful for all of our members working this Christmas and we thank them and all law enforcement officers for always being there when called upon.
We are saddened to learn of the passing of Investigator Sergeant Keith Allison. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family & friends and his coworkers at the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office.
