Sugar Monster Sweets

They don’t call me Sugar Monster for nothing! I have a sweet tooth like no other and I’m super excited to partner with Breyers to celebrate their recent collab with Cinnabon. They released three easy to make recipes that highlights their delicious, new frozen dairy dessert that’s filled with cinnamon swirls and dough bites This is a special collab for me for two reasons: 1- I grew up eating every flavor of Breyers so getting to work with the brand is pretty surreal. 2- When I was pregnant, I craved Cinnabon like a mad woman. A month ago I decided I was going to hike the CT section of the Appalachian Trail. I reached out to my half-sister to see if she wanted to join and she said yes, with no hesitation. We would hike 52 miles up and down multiple mountains on terrain that would challenge even the toughest pros. I’ve never hiked more than 2 miles when I decided I was going to do this but you know me - I love a good challenge. This was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life and it was a...lso one of the most amazing experiences ever. It’s incredible what our bodies and minds can accomplish. While we didn’t finish the whole 52 due to running out of time (and me being delusional thinking two n00bs can do this in 3 days), both of my knees needing surgery and our feet covered in painful blisters, I couldn’t be more proud of us. I’ll go out in the next couple of weeks to hike the remaining 17, split over two days and this time try it with trail runners. So appreciative of this humbling adventure and super thankful for all of the amazing hikers we met along the way. It’s incredible getting to know people during this formative journey in their life. Can’t wait to hike more of this trail!! Tear them all down. No justice, no peace I stand with you. I saw a cookie collective yesterday spreading awareness and protesting via our shared creative outlet. We can protest this bullshit on the street, online, through art and food. Things must change. Racism has no place here and neither do these statues. It’s hard to comprehend the ignorance and pure hate that runs through some people. I have compassion for the sad, oblivious and angry lives you choose to live. I was raised in a small town in Georgia that seemed to be filled mostly with uneducated rednecks. My step dad of 13 years was a black man and has always been one of the most incredible HUMANS I’ve ever known. I was ridiculed at school almost daily from illiterate, small minded fools. The thought that something so heart...less could happen to him or my little brother is truly heartbreaking. Terrible things are happening to mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, sons and daughters. Especially by a force of people we are supposed to trust to protect us. No one deserves to live in fear and become victims of heinous, hate filled crimes. Black lives matter. I love you and I stand with you. Having some fun in Brooklyn at a place I miss so much. Grateful for this time to reflect, restructure and just live life. I’m welcoming and embracing all of these changes in my life and know above all else, everything will be okay. Looking forward and trusting the unknown I’m also happy we shot this before everyone was confined to their homes for months on end.
