SUNY SA expresses our concern and dismay at the recently issued White House Executive Order: Combating Race and Sex Stereotyping, which curbs diveristy and equity trainings for institutions such as SUNY. Our Empire State... is built on the collective understanding of diversity as our greatest strength. At SUNY we are charged with the obligation to foster an environment that grants everyone an equal opportunity to thrive. The Student Assembly opposes this executive order and... stands with SUNY in urging the white house to reconsider and withdraw this order. We call upon the state to fund "Diversity and Tolerance" training requirements system wide to address this issue moving forward.
