Go to Health, Suzannah Lake LMT 07.04.2022

Important Announcement! Go to Health will continue to be closed for an undetermined amount of time. Until I have more information, I am on temporary leave due to medical complications. This sucks! This really sucks. I have been putting it off hoping I'd hear good news, but in this case no news is bad news, and I cannot work - or do many other things - until I've had some testing done and can understand my situation better.... I do not have Covid-19 (tested negative!) and it is not work related injury. Go to Health's reopening is still my plan, but I cannot set a date or prepare for it at this time. For anyone in need of a massage, my partner Tree Marino of @momma_moon_massage will be opening back up sooner than me, and she would be happy to work with you on my behalf. Her rates and location are the same as mine. Please follow her account for reopening updates and reach out to her with the info on her business page for any information you need. Be sure to tell her I sent you so you don't get turned away, and please mind ALL Covid-19 related precautions that will be included in this process. Myself having the worlds most fantastic clientele, I know you'll all do me proud by keeping yourself and Tree safe during your sessions together. I want to say thank you so much to everyone who has reached out and offered to help. Some of you know that NYS really messed up with me, and because of it I am still waiting for my PUA to be processed (cross your fingers for me). Even still, I can not make any sales for Gift Certificates at this time, because I am unsure I'll be able to fulfill them at a later date. Thank you to everyone who has offered though, you've all been so kind. For anyone currently holding a Gift Certificate, I have not forgotten about you and I will let you know when I have more answers about how to redeem them when I am able. These are difficult times for many of us, and not every business will make it through. Whether it is as GTH or Sue Lake, I hope to see you all happy and healthy on the other side of this. Be well, - Sue

Suzannah Lake LMT AKA Go to Health is closed until further notice! Wow, I'm gonna miss it. Tonight my partner and I are taking a moment to toast to my business. 6 years of massage, 4 years self employed with no additional income. Yes it makes these times a lot scarier, but I won't resist the incredible pride I have in my work and my success as a 25 year old *disabled woman supporting herself with her own mind, and her own hands. I love my job; it is a constant reminder of why... I love myself so damn much. My book is a novel of pain, rage, relief and success. I struggle every single day and every single day I have yielded results. Who else can say that? Thank you everyone who makes me possible. Without my work family (@momma_moon_massage ), home family (@super.marjorie.time @joelake2424 ), my clients and my friends I would have lost my mind long before this. And now I can confidently say, even this won't take me down. Live safe, live smart, and as always, be well. - SLLMT *Please note: I've been meaning to post more about my disability, and with more time to write I likely will soon. Officially, this week is the first I've mentioned it on my business accounts, so if this information surprises you please know I'm okay and nothing has changed on my end.

Hello everyone! I just want to share the update that Massage is a Phase 2 establishment in the plan to reopen. Phase 2 I believe is tentatively scheduled for June 1st, but it is likely to change. Even so, opening is not required. Depending on how Phase 1 goes, we may decide to remain closed a few more weeks. As non essential members of the healthcare community we want to be a truly safe space for our patients, and if taking a few unpaid weeks can help our community be safer, ...then that's an easy decision for us to make. This is of course, assuming it is possible financially for us to do so. A lot of business are going to be making a lot of difficult decisions in the coming weeks, and we all know circumstances can turn on a dime. We're trying to prepare for multiple scenarios, and we'll keep you posted once the die have been cast. Please drink water, stay warm, wear a mask, wash your hands, and say 100 nice things to yourself a day. I can't WAIT to see you all again!

You heard it here folx! I've lost a lot of sleep this week, but last night I slept well after deciding to close my practice starting Monday, 3/23/2020. Honestly, waking up to this is sort of a relief. I don't know what I'll do if this goes on as long as I expect it will, but I'll figure it out. All appointments that need to be cancelled will be cancelled the week before, and all cancelled appointments will be listed so I can reach out in order of cancellation when the lockdo...wn ends. If you would like to help, do me a favor and hop on your foam roller every day during lock down. I am not going to be able to handle the influx of Netflix-backs in need of fixing when this is all over, so please, put on your oxygen mask before helping me with mine, and meet me at the end of this big crazy mess. I love my work so much. Everyone everyone everyone, Be well - SLLMT

As of right now, Suzannah Lake LMT is still operating. To all those cancelling due to illness, thank you. Please do not come in sick. To those paying my cancellation fee digitally to help me stay afloat, thank you a hundred fold. To my clients who are able and keeping their appointments, thank you so much. Please understand it is my job to treat everyone as if they're carrying (self included). This space is clean and will be cleaned before and after every single treatment. ... I'm not a crowded business and I'm not open after 8. Keeping this place clean is even easier now, as I'm limiting my practice to one or two clients per day, and have cancelled all non essential appointments such as relaxation work and trades. For many, this could be the last chance they have to get pain relief before businesses are closed indefinitely, and I am taking that into consideration. On a personal note, as a sufferer of a chronic illness and a self employed woman who is physically disabled, I work every day knowing it could be my last. Injuries abound in my life, and I'm used to a certain amount of chronic fear and dread that one of them will leave me unable to work. This however, this is not how I plan on sinking. I'm spending as little money as possible, and will be limiting my presence to home and work exclusively from now on. As of right now, there is no aid for me as a self employed massage therapist. When it becomes mandatory to close the doors i will, but as long as I can treat you safely, I will. Then, y'all better wish me luck. Hopefully I have a massage practice to come back to when this is all over! Flatten the curve, and say a prayer for me and other self employed individuals. I am an incredibly brave woman, and for the first time in a long time, I am afraid. Not panicking, not backing down. I am brave and I am afraid. How are you?

What am I changing here at Go to Health to maintain a sanitary work environment and massage experience? Honestly? Not very much. I'm still going to open and close every door I can for guests. The last thing I do before touching each patient is still going to be use hand sanitizer on my hands, forearms and elbows. I'm still going to wash my hands and arms thoroughly before and after each session.... All surfaces you come in contact with will still be sanitized before every session and at the end of each day. Deep cleans are still Friday nights. All linens are single use, then sanitized. All linens are stored and carried in separate containers when dirty vs. clean. Etc. From now on my phone and iPad we'll be sanitized as well, and the iPad will be cleaned after every time it's signed. Following the universal precautions for a sanitary workspace is the norm in massage therapy. And on a busy day, the most people who walk in and out of this lovely room is... probably 5. 5 people. For this reason, it's not difficult to manage the room and myself well, so I do. Stress is bad for the immune system, so make sure you take care of yourself, your mental and physical health, and do your part to keep our social machine running as smooth as possible. Today and every day, I hope you'll all be well. - SLLMT @ Go to Health, Suzannah Lake LMT

Tonight's gonna be a productive one! Have I told you how much I love working with @michaela_hillier ? Because I really love working with Michaela Hillier. She's managed to keep me focused and active while single handedly hauling GTH into the digital age for all things branding, booking, correspondence and file keeping. Oh, and she's working with my HIPAA requirements. Thank you Michaela! She's mine now, but if anyone needs some assistance creating a brand or fine tuning systems to maintain their company, her skills are unmatched. Highly recommend contacting her.

Happy Small Business Saturday everyone! I have a few important announcements regarding Go to Health and your holiday shopping this season. Firstly, Go to Health is now accepting new clients for the first time since June of this year! I am currently booking about 6 weeks out, looking at January 8th and beyond. While it is a long time to wait for a massage, I’m happy to set up new clients with their first consult and appointment in the new year, and in the meantime, I’d be happ...Continue reading

I'm always working on something. Lately I've been working on more effective jaw treatments. Jaw pain can be caused by clenching, grinding, tension in the cervical region, and other forms of stress, and they can cause all kinds of dysfunctions, such as pain while eating, waking up or sleeping, headaches, vocal malfunctions and anxiety. Smaller muscles in more boney areas like these can be tricky to access, but they still need attention as much as larger areas, like back and neck. Personally, I love treating the jaw and neck. Theyre complicated and detailed, and give me an excuse to my friend Eustace here as a reference and as a demo for self massage techniques, which is a quick lesson I give every client who comes to me for jaw treatments. Stay healthy friends! @ Go to Health, Suzannah Lake LMT
