What a terrific gesture by Mr. Yuen, a former student at Cornell! This story coupled with the strong results of the use of the air purification units completely justify our decision to install them on our motorcoaches! Our 70 year history in Ithaca serving the student community at both Cornell University and Ithaca College compel us to not simply perform the basic disinfecting that has been publicly prescribed; instead we are working diligently in upgrading our vehicles with... the best technology that is available on the market to make us the safest option for transportation for our future leaders. In addition to the aforementioned disinfecting and air purification, we are upgrading our on board air filtration systems to not only include material with some of the highest levels of protection in capturing the virus - but, are going to the added expense of adding an antimicrobial layer that kills the virus after it is captured by the filter. While these upgrades are not mandated by regulation, our standards for properly serving our customers are not set by the "minimums"; instead our standards are set by how we would want to treat our customers, our employees and our family. If there is anything that the combo of the H1N1 and the SARS-CoV-2 viruses have shown us in the last decade is that we must not treat these as short term concerns; rather the intensity of the virus' potency will only continue to increase, requiring us to continually upgrade our on board equipment to provide you with the safest environment possible.
