Our back to school drive is now complete! Thank you to all that donated! Because of your generosity, we were able to supply 30 students from the Syracuse City School District with back to school essentials. Special thank you to our donors from our Black Lives Matter fund. In addition to collecting school supplies, we are able to provide 10 laptops to 10 students from the SCSD though our Laptop Giveaway initiative. SU Student Association wants to share some free initiatives they are doing to show campus-wide solidarity for the August 28 March on Washington. For those that don’t know, the March on Washington is a day of action that will demonstrate participants’ commitment to fighting for policing and criminal justice. It is in response to the protest movement that has risen up since the police killing of George Floyd and countless others. It is taking place on the 57th anniversary of the historical March on Washington, where Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his I Have a Dream speech. Here are posters of the initiatives planned for this weekend starting TODAY! Take a look and make sure to attend these events if you are able. Alt. text available. @ Syracuse University

This week, the topic on the table is non black allies. Join us on Thursday the 18th for our second of many Black Table Talks #listenlearnliberate #blacklivesmatter On the table in this week’s conversation, we talk about non-Black Allies. To stand in solidarity with the black community means that non-black people must be actively anti-racist and not simply not racist. What does this mean & what does this look like?
