The final, small piece of the much-anticipated 8-mile extension of the Harlem Valley Rail Trail has been completed and is now open! There are now 23 miles of co...ntinuous trail from the Wassaic Train Station in Amenia to the Copake Falls area of the Taconic State Park in Columbia County. We opened parts of the extension a few weeks ago and are thrilled to announce the final piece is now complete and open. County Executive Marc Molinaro invites runners, walkers, bikers, and outdoors and park enthusiasts of all ages to bundle up and come explore this part of our community. See more
Shadows are getting longer but the beauty is getting stronger...
A large portion of the beautiful new section of Harlem Valley Rail south from Undermountain Rd to Rudd Pond Road is now open. We ask folks to please respect the closure signs and construction to the south of Rudd Pond Rd. Please also park in designated areas and do not park on roadsides. Come enjoy some of the most spectacular views of the South Taconic Range!
