Tall Oaks Farm 13.02.2021

After about a week or two locked inside the girls are happy to be out on pasture again. There shouldn't be anymore breakouts now that the electric fence is up.

Anyone remember Diva? Born May of 2019 and hopefully expecting her first kids this November! Her posture isn't the greatest on the milk stand because she's still learning that the bottom won't fall out from under her but she very willingly hops up there without needing too much encouragement. She is a Nubian/Boer cross and her colors represent the boer in her. It'll be interesting to see if she milks like a Nubian or a Boer this year. Her baby pic is in the comments!

So I was cleaning the goat pen yesterday and complaining about how they get their poop everywhere when I hear my son "Mommy I have a present for you!" I replied "Oh yea? What is it?" He got a big grin on his face "It's goat poop mommy!"

So I dewormed my two milking girls tonight. Carol was a nightmare. I had to hold her head to the milk stand while trying to force it in her mouth with her trying to bite me at the same time. Vicki was a dream. She willingly and eagerly drank it down like it was candy. I used two different dewormers and when Vicki saw me get the second syringe she was acting like I was walking towards her with the best treat in existence. They are twins. Goats are interesting creatures!
