Josh Aviv, an alum Martin J. Whitman School of Management did not win his business pitch when I served as a judge several years ago for his business plan competition. His plan at the time had some inconsistencies and his team did not do well answering our questions, but look at him now. He was determined and focused. He did not quit after graduating. He took our recommendations and advice from his mentors and resources provided to him by Syracuse University, and knocked it out of the park. Last Friday, Aviv appeared on the season 12 premiere of Shark Tank, where he landed a $1 million deal with sharks Lori Greiner and Mark Cuban. Congratulations Josh. We are very proud of you. #entrepreneurship

Can our elected leaders learn how to co-parent our country to help improve the quality of life for all residents? Perspectives shared from my good friend Arel Moodie. What America can be?
The Columbus statue at the site on Jefferson Street will be moved to a private location, Walsh announced Friday. The fountain and monument at its center will remain as a permanent memorial to Italian Americans.

For event details visit Say Their Names Memorial (Please submit names thru google doc. link in post for event and CRB data collection) Accountability demands an accurate record of people affected by state-sanctioned violence. As we endeavor to build a new culture for policing in our communities, it must include a standard of accountability and transparency,'' said Rannette Releford, director of Syracuse’s the Citizen Review Board (CRB), which hears complaints about police misconducts.

According to Trump the stock market during his presidency out performed every other president, really? And the historical data says.....that was a lie!
Our amazing daughter! I stand in awe #nationaldaughtersday Sahria was one of the event’s co-hosts and one of its first speakers. She stated her discomfort with members of the Syracuse Police Department being stationed in her school, along with the frustration of walking through security measures like metal detectors on a daily basis. That early start forms the basis of a poor relationship with police officers and turns a house of education into something that feels much m...ore sinister. Our first interaction with the police is in school, said Rahim, who also noted the importance of having teachers of color and teachers who live in Syracuse. Eight hours a day. Five times a week. One-hundred and eighty days a year. By the time you reach high school, you’ve already been heavily policed. ... It did not make me feel safe. It made our school feel like a crime scene. People’s Agenda on Policing Rally, City Hall, June 2, 2020
roughly 60% of the 9,000 properties that should be on the rental registry are not, said Michael Collins, commissioner of neighborhood and business development. About 20% of landlords on the rental registry have allowed the city to inspect their properties, Collins said. Even if that rate stays the same, adding more properties to the registry will help city officials better monitor city housing stock. . .
In order to appreciate true love, you must first learn to love and respect yourself. Don't let others control your self worth. Instead believe you are priceless and hold yourself true to this belief by how you live your life. #TuesdayThoughts #tuesdayvibes #loveself
