Hello Assalamualikum beautiful, gorgeous people! It brings me great pleasure to inform you that the month of Dhul- Hijjah is upon us! You know what that means: HAJJ SEASON! While Ummrah could be performed throughout the year, Hajj is a bigger, longer process, and ultimately the most rewarding. Hajj is one of the five pillars in Islam, which means every Muslim, must perform Hajj if they are financially and physically able to do so. Now you may be asking, "hey I can't even go t...o Hajj yet because that's bread and I'm a teenager who is broke", well don't I got some new for you. It is encouraged that everyone not performing Hajj, should fast the first 9 days of Dhul-Hjjah. Although there are not fard (obligation) fast and instead are sunnah (optional) fasts, the reward for fasting these 9 days are immense. The Prophet peace be up on him, pbuh said: Anyone who fasts for one day for Allah’s pleasure, Allah will keep his face away from the (Hell) fire for (a distance covered by a journey of) seventy years. (Bukhari, Muslim), if you were to fast all of the 9 days for the sake of Allah, you would be protected from the Hell fire for 630 years. You would gain so much blessing from simply fasting 9 days. But if you are unable to fast the entire 9 days, try to fast the 9th day which is also known as Arafah, because The Prophet peace be up on him, pbuh used to fast on the ninth day of Dhul-Hijja and he said: Fasting the Day of ‘Arafah (ninth Dhul-Hijja) is an expiation for (all the sins of) the previous year and expiation for (all the sins of) the coming year. Similar to how the last ten night of Ramadan are the best nights of the year, the first ten days of Dhul- Hijjah are the best days of the year, and we're only fasting for 9 of them and the 10th is Eid-ul- Adha! So if you are able to, fast the first 9 days and Inn Shaa Allah in the akhira you shall reap the benefits for doing so! Have a wonderful rest of summer! Do your summer reading! Do your summer math Algebra 2 kiddos! And have a blessed Dhul-Hijjah! Assalamualaikum! See more
