Happy Veterans Day to all that served so we may enjoy the freedoms we all enjoy. Here are a few of my veterans.

We have been so busy lately that I haven’t had a chance to post on here but , I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how appreciative I am for what we have. We have the nicest group of people that come in here and you all make 10 hour days of standing behind the barber chair much easier to get through. Thank you all!!

Howdy folks! I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful summer we are having regardless of the crazy world we are living in. We are still on an appointment only basis but we have caught up from the close down and wait times are a lot shorter. Get cleaned up before school starts ! Peace out

Thank you for everyone’s patience and support while we reopen!

So, to be fully transparent about our business practices and the safety of our community I feel the need to inform everyone that Monday afternoon it was confirmed that a person that tested positive for COVID was in here last week. The exposure did not take place here in the shop but out in the community. I want to assure everyone that we follow every guideline set forth by the CDC to ensure the safety of our customers and staff. After speaking with the County Health Depar...tment they have advised us that we are safe to continue working. We are tested individually every two weeks anyway as per recommendations by the state of NY. I’m putting this out there because I want people to know that this is still a real thing and just because things are reopening it is not business as usual in any way. Wearing a mask works and social distancing works. Please continue to be smart so we can continue our reopening in this region. Wear a freaking mask when you go out- it is simple sign of respect to your fellow citizens and it is your responsibility to them. If anyone has any questions please call my cell at 607-435-0145. Well folks, here's the update on where things stand. We will be reopening Monday June 1st. Things are going to be very different for a while and honestly, quite stressful so, be patient with us. So here is how we have to do things- for your safety and ours. 1. You must have an appointment to enter the shop and there is no waiting area in the shop. When you get to the shop, call the number on the door to let us know you are here and we will let you in when we are ready fo...r you. 2. We have to wear masks and so do you! please bring a mask that fits around your ears. I have done a few cuts so far like this and it is not terrible. I do have disposable masks if you do not have one that fits over the ears but, I cannot afford to supply everyone masks. 3. If you have had any symptoms of illness do not come in until you have been tested to be Covid free. It is recommended that we screen every customer before they enter so don't be offended if we ask. 4.We are required to keep a log of all customers that come in for services so, if we don't already have your contact info we will be asking for it. Unfortunately, for now we can not do any shaving or beard work. I know this is a lot but, it is nothing compared to what we are doing behind the scenes in order to open and keep us all safe as possible. Each one of us barbers is working less than half our normal schedule in order to maintain safe distancing and we are only able to see about half the people we normally see in a day due to disinfecting that needs to happen between services. We are not raising our prices to make up for the loss in income and increase in cost to do business so, be patient and be kind. Hello folks. First of all, I want to thank everyone for all the years of support and helping us build not just a community but, a family. Because we care about our community and family and, after much thought and discussion, we have decided that it is in the best interest of everyone- especially our community at large, that we are going to close for a time. I think it is only a matter of time before we are forced to do it anyway and it feels like the most responsible decis...ion at this time. Financially this will be difficult, as it is for so many of our friends and loved ones that are self-employed or work in the food and beverage industries or any other displaced workers but, I will sleep better knowing that we are doing our part to stop the spread of this virus. Tomorrow, Thursday the 19th, will be our last day for hopefully not more than a couple of weeks. We will get through this- together. From all us here at the Crystal Palace Stay healthy, spend time with your kids (we are gonna need a break after all this!), get back to the basics and if anyone needs anything let me know. To our dear friends and customers. We here at the Crystal Palace are trying to do our best during these difficult times to keep everyone safe. We plan on trying to stay open as long as we can and as long as we feel it is safe to do so. Being self employed, we only get paid if we work and we want to be here for our folks if we can. We are only taking 2 appointments every half hour at this point, this gives us more time to sterilize between customers and will limit the... number of people in our shop at any one time. If you or your children are experiencing any symptoms of illness, please reschedule. For the foreseeable future, Saturday will be appointment only also. We will all get through this but, we have to do it together. Be there for your neighbors, use common sense in your interactions with people and be kind to one another. Much love to you all

Here at the Crystal Palace, we want to give a big thank you to all that serve our country. In this day and age the act of service to an idea that is bigger than yourself is quite lost. If you can’t serve in the military then volunteer at a food pantry or in a civic organization or help your neighbors but, give back. Thank you Brad Taylor Jones for your continued military service and all the rest of you veterans that have served. You are owed a debt of graditude.
