The Center for Law and Social Policy has launched a #NewDealforYouth, a new initiative highlighting the challenges faced by young people and communities of color, many of which have been exacerbated by COVID-19 and racial turmoil. To promote action and investment from both private and public sectors, CLASP has released a data portrait of young people, based on analysis of federal surveys, that examines the lives of young people across three areas: Economic Justice, Healing & Wellbeing, and Safe Communities.

A project published in the Washington Post features a collection of stories by Magnum Foundation grantees. Seven photographersbased in the Middle East and North Africashare personal experiences and perspectives that reveal the extent to which COVID-19 has impacted the lives of people in already tenuous circumstances.

Congratulations to Dr. Elaine Yau, Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive's inaugural Associate Curator for the Eli Leon Collection, which comprises nearly three thousand African American quilts. Yau, who co-curated the museum’s acclaimed retrospective of Rosie Lee Tompkins earlier in 2020, will oversee all cataloguing, research, and exhibition of the historic collection. https://buff.ly/35gXEV4

American Council of Learned Societies is accepting applications for its second round of Leading Edge Fellowships! Recent PhDs in religious studies, theology, and ethics will be selected to work with organizations around the country, lending their skills and knowledge to projects that help communities impacted by COVID-19. Deadline is Nov 2.

@RELatUA The University of Alabama’s American Examples projectwhich supports early-career scholars of religion in America across a variety of disciplineswelcomes applications for its 2021 program. The deadline for the Luce Indigenous Knowledge Fellowship is next week 10/22! First Nations Development Institute will select ten Native knowledge holders and knowledge makers, who are engaged in work that benefits Indigenous people and communities, to join its 2021 cohort and receive a $50,000 award.
