Today our nation honors Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. As our country has seen so much division this year - much of it based on race and politics - we encourage you to follow Christ’s example of loving others first, as Martin Luther King, Jr. sought to do the same in his life as he fought for racial equality. It is something we must work towards today also. As the prophet Isaiah said in Isaiah 1:17, God wants his people to cease evil, do good, and seek justice.... From a message he preached in Montgomery, Alabama, Nov. 6, 1956: As you press on for justice, be sure to move with dignity and discipline, using only the weapon of love. Let no man pull you so low as to hate him. I still believe that standing up for the truth of God is the greatest thing in the world. This is the end of life. The end of life is not to be happy. The end of life is not to achieve pleasure and avoid pain. The end of life is to do the will of God, come what may.
