This time of year is one that should be spent reflecting on the past 12 months and being with family. As entrepreneurs, we often push ourselves so hard that we forget to come up for air. At the close of what has been a year of change, take some time to reflect on what has happened and spend time with your family.

In this week's Mulligan Monday, we're going to talk about dumping information on learners. My grandfather had a saying, "I just asked for a glass of water, you don't need to turn the hose on me." When we're creating a course, we feel a need to pack as much as possible into the course so that people will become "instant experts." While we have the best of intentions, this technique can backfire on us since learning something new takes a large amount of brainpower. When we try ...to "firehose" someone with information, they end up leaving the course with a feeling similar to being hit by a truck. Leaving learners fatigued seriously impedes knowledge retention. In this week's Mulligan Monday, we're going to talk about stage fright. "Remember, the audience is happier you're the one on stage and they aren't" Public speaking is one of the most stressful things in just about anyone's life. Even the most experienced speaker has a slight twinge of anxiety just before they go in front of a crowd. There is a lot of advice out there including imagining the audience in their underwear but the best piece of advice I can give people is to remember that just about every person in the audience is happy that you're the one on stage and not them. When I first realized this fact, standing on stage in front of a bunch of strangers immediately became easier.
