And for this old man, these words complete a circle in his personal story, when he first heard of a place where, from the oldest grandparents, to the littlest babies, everyone is cared for in love.

"That the Poets will save us" by Vincent Moody I write this Monday night. Tomorrow America decides which man will lead our nation for the next four years. Both candidates present the other as an existential threat to America, democracy and all that’s holy. Maybe they’re both right. The politicians will not save us. But the poets will.... poetically man dwells on this earth * Really? But it’s possible. In fact, only when we live poetically can we live truly. Fully. The poet sings the song of the wind / and eagles wings that screams I am alive. The poets pulse quickens to the smell of storm, dances to the thrill of stinging drops. He sees the filtered sun / of gold fine-spun by hemlocks twilight fingers. The poet lives. Can we? And see the children, the true poets of our time. They have ears for the word-whispers of the earth. A pebble is to be touched, smelled, and chewed to discover and savor its own unique character. Avocados are for smearing your face to explore the creamy yet grainy texture of the color green. Each moment is a sheet of verse, waiting to be scribbled in crayon. Let the little children come to me. ** We will follow. *poem by Holderlin in Martin Heidegger’s Poetry, Language, Thought **Mathew 19:14

"Everyone was looking for something. But my activism wasn’t taking me anywhere. Nor was my search for truth. People would say, 'Well, it depends what you mean b...y truth or justice, or peace.' There was always some kind of stopper on any meaningful conversation or seeking." Then, on a visit to the Woodcrest Bruderhof in New York, Martha was stopped in her tracks: https://www.anotherlifeispossible.com//fin/martha-woolston "I was hit in the face with the difference between the life I was living and what I saw in front of me. Here were the truths I had been looking for, as objective quantities. Nobody was sitting down to define them, or arguing about them as ideas. They were being lived. You could feel it in your bones." #AnotherLifeIsPossible #Bruderhof

"The first and foremost thing is this, that people have gathered together here in order to live their lives filled by a clearly defined and common purpose." Read a letter from Annemarie Arnold to her family after joining the Bruderhof in 1932.

I have always enjoyed drawing, painting, and sculpting with clay. Recently, however, I stumbled across this new media fabric art. I find it both fascinating and fun. It is just like painting actually, because you have to create a picture that hangs together with its colors and patterns. I keep discovering something new with each creation, so I never get tired of trying out yet another one! Jenny Gneiting See more fabric art from Jenny: https://www.etsy.com/shop/FootpathFabrics
