We are so proud and honored to announce that The Carlyle has been recognized in Conde Nast Traveler’s 2020 Readers’ Choice Awards as the #1 Hotel in New York City! This achievement is especially meaningful in such an unpredictable and challenging year and we are so grateful to all our @cntraveler and @condenasttraveller devoted readers around the globe. A big congratulations to our dedicated associates on this prestigious award and we cannot wait to welcome everyone back to our beloved Upper East Side gem! #RCA2020 #Travel #NYC #TheCarlyle #RosewoodHotels

Today, we are celebrating what would have been Bobby Short’s 96th Birthday the portrait shown here was painted by artist Alexander Talbot Rice and currently hangs in our Madison Avenue lobby - just outside his Café Carlyle where he performed to sold-out crowds for 36 years. #icon #legend #cabaret #cafecarlyle #bobbyshort #greatamericansongbook

We’re putting on a happy face with Rob Mosci this weekend! "Put On A Happy Face" was first introduced by Dick Van Dyke in the musical Bye Bye Birdie.
A reminder of our favorite place to make an entrance.

We are very saddened to hear about the passing of the legendary Regis Philbin. He was a frequent visitor to the hotel, especially Cafe Carlyle, and spoke so graciously many mornings on his show after attending our performances the previous evening. Thank you Mr. Philbin for all of your support through the years; you are a one-of-a-kind, New York icon and have left a wonderful legacy.

Our weekend starts now by recreating one of our favorite #bemelmansbar cocktails: The Luxury Sidecar 1 1/2 oz Martell Cordon Bleu 3/4 oz Calvados Apple Brandy ... 3/4 oz Cointreau 2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice 1 oz Simple Syrup Combine all of the above and shake vigorously and pour into a martini glass, rimmed with sugar. Garnish with a lemon twist. Enjoy our slight twist on a classic sidecar! Illustration by @keratill
Thank you to Rob Mosci and his trio for sharing more beautiful music with us. Here they are virtually performing They Can’t Take That Away From Me by Gershwin.
Wishing a Happy 4th of July to all of our wonderful guests and associates!
