Patching in 3rd floor floors for more art studios at The Gear. About 100 bags so far! I have no time line, I’m just taking things one bag at a time. lol

The worst day of my life happened exactly 10 years ago over the course of a 3 minute phone call. This video is sense that day..... Under the circumstances at the time the result was shutting down The Gear Factory until I could take care of the issues. I had to tell about 60 artists they couldn't re-enter the building except to remove things (with no time frame or certainty of returning), I was trying to finish remodeling our house, we just had our first daughter with anothe...r soon on the way (also meaning very pregnant wife) while living in a very unfinished apartment, I owed a ton of money to a lot of people and places, and along with all that there went pretty much all my income. I would say this was the most difficult thing I ever had to deal with. (Over the course of 2-3 months I might have thrown or smashed a few things and maybe my eyes watered up here and there a tiny tiny bit.) But hey, eventually I figured it out!! You do not quit, it's like a rule or something I was taught, it's just not allowed. Fast forward 10 years later I'm not sure anymore if this was one of the worst or one of the best things that ever happened to me? So I'm just going to go with the best, I now view this as the best thing that ever happened to me. Because hey, nobody would be exactly where they are today unless every single thing happened the way it happened right? I'm a very happy person today with a loving family and I get to rent art and music studios and live/work apartments to collectively a couple hundred plus of some of the most awesome kinds of people on the planet, and live in a city that keeps getting better and better all the time with plenty of room for new people to move here and be a part of it. I’m extremely thankful for all my friends and the people I’ve met along the way who’ve helped make all this my reality. Whether things break us down or build us up..... That's a choice. If you have some, would you mind posting some pics or whatever in the comments of how you've interacted with the me and or The Gear Factory over the past decade? Thanks!

CNY Arts is collecting data to ensure that our artists and creatives are included in any impact resources that get developed. We have deployed this survey over seven counties to find out what it will take to address our region's needs. Can you share this with your lists and encourage those who get to share with others. Below is the link and some language around it. Are you an artist, cultural organization, or employed in the creative sector? ... We need to know how COVID-19 is impacting you. Please spend five minutes to complete this survey: http://www.RMSresults.com/CNYArts CNY Arts has partnered with Research & Marketing Strategies, Inc. (RMS) to conduct research demonstrating the impact of COVID-19 on the regional arts community. For each survey completed, CNY Arts will donate $2 towards the CNY COVID-19 Arts Impact Fund. All survey results will remain anonymous and information will be aggregated. It's vital that everyone's voice in the creative sector is heard!
