The competition was fierce with professional and home chefs cooking up their best spicy, sweet, and smokey Chili masterpieces. With a very tough decision to make, the final winning votes went to @greenstreetfoodtruck for Professional team, @vegan_atheist71 of @veganlongisland for best home cooks, and... #patchoguecommunitygarden for People's Choice awards. Currently doing a happy dance over here at The @hamptoncoffee company. After many years of asking them to include a vegan option on the lunch or breakfast menu, they finally added The Happy Wrap, filled with spinach, avocado, rice, veggies, and.... Wait for it... VEGAN CHEESE. And not the crappy dairy-free, weird aftertaste kind of cheese either, the amazing @fieldroast creamy #ChaoCheese (it tastes like American and Provolone mix). I paired mine with an oat milk matcha latte... and couldn't be more grateful for this beautiful summer day in the Hamptons. At times you can find a vegan soup in the mix, plain bagel with no spread, or the green smoothie if you are on site. The Hamptons wouldn't be The Hamptons without NYC knocking on our backdoor. On occasion, Hampton locals do like to wander into the big city for special occasions. For myself, one special occasion had recently passed and that sent us over to Third Street where abundant vegan-friendly restaurant options showed themselves. We chose the organic, 100% plant-based and gluten-free food and wine bar, @le_botaniste. I was blown away by their simple yet intricate gourmet dishes that in...cluded friendly waitstaff and a knowledgable hostess. The Happy Fish Maki roll, consisting of Nori, quinoa and rice, pickled ginger, wasabi, red sauerkraut, turmeric onions, marinated tofu, mix vegetables, and a ginger velvet/ saffron Aioli dressing, was refreshing and delicious. Their Coconut Ceviche, Spicy Chili sin carne, Apple Volcano, and selection of natural wines are also the talk of the town. Prices are very reasonable and the quality on point.
