Today is the first day of the 10-day virtual Little Moe 5k walk-run for horse rescue. Funds will go to saving Sindri's life: Sindri is a tiny, beautiful rescued pony who came to Skanda with Little Moe back in 2013 after the CNY SPCA rescued them with a herd of 14 ponies who were starving in a snowy field. Sindri suffers from severe respiratory issues which have worsened in the last few weeks. We have just realized she will not survive this winter indoors, and needs to be outside in the fresh air. All registrations and donations will help build Sindri an outdoor shelter so that she can live outside this winter. 100% of donations and race registrations will go to help Sindri. Calling all construction-skilled volunteers! Can you help us build a 3-sided, lean-to structure in our pasture to protect Sindri the rescued pony? Sindri has chronic breathing issues that have worsened in the last few weeks. We have just realized she will need to be outside this winter to survive. She will not survive a winter indoors. If you have skills or materials, or if you are willing to help alongside experts, or can pass this to a construction company willing to help with this, please contact us asap! Thank you!

If you are not able to get your family together this Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Eve/Day, give everyone an extra-special dose of pure love by getting together on Zoom and having one of Skanda's beautiful, loving rescued animals make an appearance during your get-together. The animals are magical, and bring so much love. This is Skanda's gift to you for the holidays, and there is no charge. Donations are accepted from those who are able, but are absolutely not required. Skanda is here to support the greatest possibilities, hope, and love. Chocolate Kiss is an incredible mother. She protects Manny, yet encourages him to explore. She is strong for him, and also soft and tender. And as you can see, he loves her right back! This beautiful moment was captured by Ali Ament, one of Skanda's recent overnight guests -- she and her daughter spent three nights in our cozy barn apartment, exploring the farm and bonding with the animals during the day --- the perfect way to experience the tranquility of Skanda.
