Left Forum 02.02.2021

*Left Forum Update* As we live through and try to meet the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we face many difficult decisions. After conferring at length and considering the conditions at our venue, Long Island University in Brooklyn, as well as travel constraints and the governor's recent ban on large gatherings, board members and staff together have decided to cancel the Left Forum 2020 conference originally scheduled for May 29-31, 2020. We at Left Forum are committed t...o ensuring the health and well-being of the conference participants, the public and our supporters. We have begun planning for events later this year and next. We ask that you check our website and assure you that we will be in touch soon. Respectfully, Left Forum Board of Directors and Staff #LeftForum2020andBeyond #AnotherWorldisPossible

"Abolition asks us to dream bigger than reform, because an abolition democracy is one that is predicated on community self-determination and collective care wit...hout relying on carceral systems and their technologiesprisons, detention centers, psychiatric wards, police unions, juvenile detention, and more. For those working to move away from such agents that prop up racial capitalism, abolition democracy is the vision and horizon. True democracy cannot coexist with these systems of control." See more
