Also, Governor Cuomo finally vindicated the restaurant and bar industry as he said today that 74% of the covid spread was happening at home and a low percentage was spread from going out to eat. This is something a lot of us have known all along. Very glad someone finally said it. Our industry and all it’s workers have been vilified for the last 9 months. With all the sanitary practices done in this in...dustry, especially here at The Union, a restaurant is one of the safest places to be, as long as people are adhering to social distancing guidelines. Today we celebrate eight years! We are so excited to be able to say that. Eight years! This year may have been our most challenging year, but it helped us grow, become wiser, and helped us build even more perseverance. What we’ve learned navigating through 2020 we will take with us to help us for the rest of our lives. We are proud of what we’ve accomplished these last eight years, and especially this year. We could not have done it without all of you. We are so thankful to b...e a part of this great community that shows us nothing but love and support. Thank you to all of you who have been a part of what we’ve built and how far we’ve come and we look forward to what’s to come! I looked back through a lot of our pictures today from over the years and wanted to share some of them with you. What amazing memories we’ve all created. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Just wanted to let you all know our holiday schedule. We will be open until 4pm Christmas Eve. So come by and grab a bite while doing your last minute shopping. We want to wish our Union Family a very Merry Christmas and wish for you all to get all the blessings in the new year. 2020 was a challenging year for everyone. But we know that we will all come out of this year stronger and more focused on improving going forward. With this record breaking snow storm, we have decided to remain closed for the rest of the day. Just to keep you all updated, we have decided that we will be reopening tomorrow for indoor dining starting at 11am. We put a lot of thought and consideration into this, as we have done the past couple of weeks. We’ve been doing takeout only for two weeks now and feel like it’s the right time to open back up. We are confident that everyone coming in will continue to be safe and can have a great time here, while social distancing. We will continue, as we always do, to be extr...emely clean and careful to make sure everyone that walks through the door is safe. The numbers seem to be going down a little and we want to give a huge shoutout to Broome county for coming together once again and doing what we need to do to get through this little spike. Thank you to all the other restaurants and bars that also chose to go takeout only. There’s no question we all had a positive effect on the total number of cases and prevented an even worse spike. We are still doing our Quarantine Meal to-go Saturday starting at noon, across the street at our banquet hall. It is our very popular polish dinner. After much consideration, we decided we are not fully reopening today. We are going to continue just doing takeout through the weekend. Although we would love to fully open our doors and welcome you all in, we feel the responsible decision is to give it a few more days and hopefully get this number down so we can get Binghamton out of the yellow zone. The last thing we want is for this number to keep rising and having the state shut us all down for a long period of time. We will revisit when we are going to reopen this weekend.

Happy Friday! After much deliberation we’ve come to a hard decision. Due to the County Executive telling everyone to stay home for 7 days and the rapidly rising numbers in Broome County, we have decided we are going to close indoor dining and go takeout only effective immediately. ... Although we do not want to close down, we feel it is our obligation to make the right decision for the safety of our staff, our families and our community. We do not want to be a cause for anyone to get sick or for us to be a reason the number of positive cases continues to increase. We are such a busy establishment that if anyone were to come in with the virus, even with us following social distancing guidelines, there is too much of a chance for too many people to be exposed. Our plan as of right now is to go by the request of the county executive for people to stay home for 7 days and reopening fully next Thursday. But we will revisit this plan next week and base that decision when we see what the numbers look like and make a responsible decision from there. We will still be running a special tonight- We are doing Lobster Raviolis. Our hours for takeout will be as follows: Mon-Thu 11am-10pm Fri and Sat 11am-11pm Sun noon-10pm We are sorry to make this last minute call on a Friday and apologize to anyone who had plans to come down tonight. But we feel we are making the responsible decision for the health and betterment of our community.

Today marks the final day of us being able to welcome everyone in our doors after 10:00pm. So we’ll be having our 2nd end of the world party of the year! Tonight, we are going to party like it’s 2019!! I had a long ranting post written out but decided to keep my opinion to myself. ... But I will say this is devastating to the service industry and devastating to service industry workers who will now have to see their income cut yet again with no help from the government that continues to impose these targeted attacks against this industry and its workers. We will be offering 10% off to anyone who works in the service industry to try and help the people that are struggling still be able to get their favorite food and drinks. This deal is everyday until these restrictions are lifted. While we will be closing at 10:00 after today, we will keep our kitchen open until midnight for takeout for anyone looking for a late night snack. Hopefully this will accommodate all the 2nd shifters that will no longer be able to get a drink and a bite to eat after a long night at work. Happy Friday! Feeling a little down today as we should be gearing up and getting ready for our favorite weekend of the year. In normal times, we’d be heading to Buffalo for the weekend to defend our crown as the best wings in the country at the Buffalo National WingFest. Unfortunately, covid has cancelled this amazing event, as it has everything else. Not only have we done extremely well the last four years competing against the best wings in the world, we have so much fun d...oing it. Our team works hard and then we play hard and we are very sad to be missing it this year. Even though it’s only a slight consolation, technically we are national champions for another year . As most of you know, we always close Labor Day weekend (sat-mon) for the event. We are still going to be closed this year so our staff can get a break and head to Atlantic City for a team building exercise. The good news is, when we reopen Tuesday, we will be back to our normal hours. They are as follows: Mon-Thu 11am-1am Fri, sat 11am-3am Sun noon-1am And our kitchen will again be open all night! With that being said, we will be celebrating tonight as if we were still going to Buffalo! It’s going to be gorgeous out and a perfect night to sit out on our beautiful patio!
