The story of Le Chambon-sur-Lignon is one about courage, being an upstander when others have lost their moral compass. https://www.cnn.com//fortune-french-village-naz/index.html #Holocaust #neveragain #shoah #righteousgentiles

We mourn the passing of William Z. Bernheim,98, who survived the worst of the Holocaust yet whose resilience, optimism, wit and art were an inspiration to all who knew him. We were fortunate that Willy spoke at the annual NY teachers' seminar for TOLI, and through his extraordinary paintings, conveyed the horrors of the Buchenwald and other Holocaust experiences. (See https://www.williambernheim.com) We extend our sincere condolences to his beloved wife, Lucille, children and grandchildren. May his memory be a blessing. .

Last night was the concluding session of the TOLI European Transnational Seminar, Teaching About the Holocaust and Human Rights. We are very grateful to the 40 teachers from 15 European countries who participated in the weekly seminar. . In these challenging times, it is even more heartening to see their commitment to teach the Holocaust and to raise awareness of their students to injustice, racism and antisemitism. The word cloud below was created based on the response of the teachers to describe their experience in this seminar. #Holocaust #humanrights #neveragain #Antisemitism #hatespeech

Annual report shows attacks on Jews in Europe over 2000 last year. The pandemic has fuelled anti-Semitic conspiracies, mainly right-wing and ultra Conservative Christian and Moslem groups. Here, where the Holocaust took place, it is important to counter these incendiary attacks. TOLI, with Holocaust education programs in 10 European countries, has recruited hundreds of educators in the fight against anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial. As a part of TOLI's commitment to fighting racism and promoting equity, the TOLI Mississippi Satellite Seminar hosted an intensive weeklong anti-racist reading group in June of this year. Participants read, discussed, and reflected on the content within the book Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You, by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi. Support this important work by donating to TOLI today! https://bit.ly/2JyNszX Participant Shannon Caraway, a Mississippi educator, reflected: I definitely feel changed. My perspective has expanded and I feel like it has given me the vocabulary and insight to have an educated conversation with others about what we can do to make our society one that is equal. #NeverAgain #HolocaustEducation #Antiracism #Mississippi #Stamped

Donate today to support more teachers like Lamar reach students all across the country! https://bit.ly/32i68Lc I am a professional development nut and can honestly state that TOLI is the best professional development model out there. The writing element is key and the sharing interaction in both small and whole groups is something to live by. The guest speakers of paramount experience just put power into everyone’s pen; you absorb it and it becomes poetic art on the written page. I thought my Montana experience in writing would not live up to the NYC experience. I was wrong and this time I was developing the greatest relationships with my friends and making new friends at the same time. Laron Johnson, Rigby High School in Rigby, Idaho.
