On International Overdose Awareness Day, REACH takes this moment to remember each life lost to overdose. Our hearts are with the families and loved ones of those who have passed. Every person can help prevent an overdose by learning how to use Narcan and supporting Harm Reduction efforts. REACH is thrilled to share the wonderful news that today, HRSA announced that we were selected for the RCORP Implementation grant, which is a Federal grant that aims to improve access to care and services for people with opioid use disorder in rural communities. REACH and its partners are one of only 3 awards in New York State! REACH will form a coalition of seven partners to execute this award including: Bassett Medical Center, Binghamton University, Care Compass Network, C...atskills Addiction Coalition, Chenango Health Network, Southern Tier AIDS Program and Truth Pharm. This coalition will work together over a three year period to enhance care for people who use drugs in eight rural counties, expand education and services, including harm reduction, and improve collaboration with other rural agencies in the region. REACH was selected, among only six programs in the entire country, to receive a two year research grant funded by Pew Charitable Trusts. The REACH study will evaluate the impact REACH's model has in reducing overdose deaths and increasing access to treatment for people with opioid use disorder. This grant will be lead by REACH's Director of Research and Education, Dr. Judith Griffin. Helpful information from the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA): As many of you already know, SAMHSA has a number of resources to assist you in getting help, access treatment, and connect to a crisis counselor. The resources include: National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-TALK (8255)... Free and confidential support for people in distress, 24/7. Behavioral Health Treatment Services Locator Find treatment facilities confidentially and anonymously, 24/7. National Helpline 1-800-662-HELP (4357) Treatment referral and information, 24/7. We also want to make you aware of another resource for those who prefer texting/social media (Facebook Messenger) to seek help. This resource is supported mostly by private companies such as Netflix and YouTube. Crisis Text Line is free, 24/7 support for those in crisis. Text 741741 from anywhere in the US to text with a trained Crisis Counselor. We are offering all of our regular services including MAT, primary care, behavioral health counseling & medication management and Hep C treatment.

REACH is fully operational with telemedicine! We are accepting new appointments for MAT and behavioral health counseling via telemed. Our team provided over 100 visits since Monday! Thank you to our patients (new and established) for your patience as we transition to this new method of providing care. However, due to the continued rapid spread of COVID-19, we are in the process of rescheduling appointments to be done via telemedicine or telephone. While we can accept walk-ins on a very limited basis, we ask that you please call ahead of time, to ensure that we continue to limit the spread of COVID19. If you are experiencing shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, or other serious symptoms, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Since opening two years ago, REACH raised a total of $218,455 from 163 individual contributions. In 2020, we hope to increase our donor base primarily through smaller dollar donations.
