We are excited to be offering our two-week summer program for individuals with developmental disabilities. We are looking to hire a program coordinator as well... as staff to work the 2-week program being held at Braeside Camp August 16th through August 27th. Additional hours for training required. Applicants must be 18yrs of age or older, have experience working with IDD populations and a creative and eager spirit!
Friendly Visitors do more than visit. We drive our neighbors to the doctor or to the supermarket. We assist neighbors with grocery shopping. We help our neighbors with tasks in the home. We call our neighbors to check in and say hello. In as little as a few minutes a week volunteering helps our neighbors stay connected. Register for a 90 minute virtual training and see how easy it is to volunteer with the Friendly Visitor Program in your community.
Volunteer in as little as 30 minutes with the Blooming Grove Neighbors or Neighbors Friendly Visitor Program!-Opportunities available NOW in Blooming Grove. Attend a Volunteer Zoom Training and complete an application! It is that easy. 90 minute Training sessions: Tuesday, June 8th at 10:00 am or Thursday, June 24th at 6:00 pm... Other training dates available. Contact The Friendly Visitor Program at 845-341-1173 ext. 305 or [email protected] to register for the training or for more information. This 90-minute Zoom training will prepare you to provide support to older adults in your own community in as little as 30 minutes. Our volunteers provide local transportation to essential appointments, grocery shopping and phone check in calls/friendly visits-Covid 19 social distancing observed. Volunteering is rewarding and flexible. Reservations are required. Background checks and Insurance while volunteering is provided. The Town of Blooming Grove partners with JFS of Orange County and the Office for the Aging to support our neighbors.
