Torah Learning Circle

Hi and hello, I hope you are well.... It's been quite a long time since I have sent out an audio link to my Wednesday evening Torah Learning Circle class, one of the reasons being some technical difficulties I was having with the old format. I am now so excited to have found a new working format that I hope works for you too. This week's class on Parsha Pekudei features amongst some other teachings, insights and explanations from the Zohar on the Urim V Tumim, the Tzitz ...of the Kohein ( and its connection to Tefillin) and the connection between the Incense and the Menorah. Hi and good morning, This past Shabbos I had the great schuss to be at a wonderful retreat, it was put together by Rebbetzin Chana Bracha Siegelbaum of Midreshe...t Berot Bat Ayin ( Eretz Yisroel) together with Atara, an Association for Torah and the Arts. I was asked to teach Tiferet Movement at the Retreat. Teaching Tiferet Movement on Shabbos is quite a challenge as I don't generally exercise on Shabbat, but using the body to experience deep Torah ideas is a wonderful thing to do.I am calling it Embodied Torah teaching! I used breath, movement and meditation to create and enter into our own personal Mishkan's .... exploring the different areas of the Mishkan in our own consciousness.... Offering up our own animalistic limitations Experiencing the illumination of the Menorah Experiencing the benefits of the incense Entering into the Holy of Holies and encountering ones own inner heart with the luchot( both intact and broken) All of the above was taught in an embodied, moving and body-centered way.... This week's class is all about all of the above, just we went through it sitting comfortably on nice armchairs and sipping tea instead of standing, stretching gently and doing deep breath work! In this weeks TLC class we discuss the persona of Moshe's father in law Yitro, and why the portion of the Jews standing at Har Sinai and receiving the Torah bears his name. We also learnt about how the giving of the Torah totally changes the nature of reality in that the Physical and Spiritual worlds become linked in a totally new way.
