Our 2021 Summer Program Brochure is now available. Registration begins on Wednesday, June 2nd at 9:00 AM. ***Summer Day Camp registration is online only. If you have not done so already, go to camillus.recdesk.com and create a family account (parent/guardian and children). This will save time and frustration on registration day. All other programs can be registered online or by mail. There are plans to open the splash pad this year. At this time we are still waiting for New York State to issue their guidance for Aquatic Spray Grounds. Once this information is provided an opening date will be determined.

We’re Back (almost )! Our hope is to release our program brochure (hardcopy/online) the last week of May and open program registration on Wednesday, June 2nd. Summer Day Camp registration (online only) will begin on June 2nd at 9:00 AM. Online registration is new this year. Today's session of Camillus Striders Running Club is cancelled and will be made up on Friday, December 11th. This is just for the 7-8th grade group.

All of the Town of Camillus buildings and offices are now located in the yellow cautionary zone for COVID-19 spread, access will only be allowed by appointment. Most business can be done via email, mail or online so please contact the department that you wish to visit ahead of time. You will be provided an alternate option to conduct your business or, if necessary, an appointment will be made. All town offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 26 and November 27th... in observance of Thanksgiving. We wish you and yours a very healthy and happy Thanksgiving!

Many of the Parks & Recreation Agencies in the Central New York area are reaching out today in honor of our beloved friend and colleague Tom White who passed away on July 1st. Tom worked for the City of Syracuse Parks, Recreation, and Youth Programs for 33 years before retiring in 2016. His job was only a small part of what he contributed to Central New York and beyond. Tom was a leader in the field, passionate for his work in advocating opportunities for recreation and de...dicated his life to service on the behalf of others. The word no was not in Tom’s vocabulary. He was heavily involved in our local Central New York Recreation & Parks Society as well as New York State Recreation & Parks Society. He spent many years on both executive boards taking on six years as secretary of NYSRPS, two terms as President of CNYRPS, and 3-time co-chair for NYSRPS Annual Conference among other positions. He was a mentor to many and a friend to all. He was always reminding people to get involved and don’t forget to visit local parks wherever you may travel. Thank you Tom, for your service to parks and recreation, to your community, to NYSRPS. We are better people because of you and by the impact you have had in so many lives. You will be greatly missed. The Town of Camillus Parks and Recreation Department has made the difficult decision to cancel our summer programs. This decision was made in conjunction with the West Genesee School District and the result of the associated uncertainty, the potential health risks, and a lack of current and ever changing guidance associated with the COVID-19 virus.

The beach at Gillie Lake will be open for the season beginning this Saturday, June 13th. The beach will be open 7 days per week from 11:00 am 6:00 pm daily. Due to capacity/social distancing regulations, attendance will be limited to 150 visitors per day. Please note the following mandated NYS Health Department restrictions are in place until further notice:... Visitors must practice social distancing and wear a mask when they cannot remain greater than 6 feet away from other individuals outside their own family (Masks will be provided if necessary) All individuals using the beach will be provided a bracelet to track beach capacity Use of picnic tables,volleyball court and pavilions are prohibited One individual in your group will be asked to provide a name and phone number for tracing purposes in the event it is needed in the future to contact guests for COVID purposes. This is not a requirement but will be encouraged Temperature checks are not required
