He had a bite of an undisclosed origin and the DOH in NYC wanted him in a 6 month quarantine. ... A lot of rescues backed away because of this restriction- we went in full steam ahead and saved him in the nick of time. Einstein had great bloodwork a couple of months ago and then it was haywire recently showing full blown renal failure. His AMAZING forever family is absolutely devastated and everyone in the Town & Country house is deeply saddened. We could not change your past but we made damn sure you knew true love. Hello Friends! We are looking for an emergency foster/foster to adopt for T&C alum Piper. Piper was rescued from ACC back in December 2019 and was adopted by a wonderful woman in February 2020. Unfortunately, Piper's mom is very ill and can no longer take care of her. ... Piper's bio when she was available for adoption is pretty on point and serves to be the case today as well. Piper is an approximately 19 pounds mixed Doxie. She's previously lived in an adult only home. She is super sweet. She was good with cats and seems to have liked larger dogs better than smaller dogs although we do not know if this has changed since she was the only dog in her home. She needs a 10 second warm up to new people so we are recommending teens and up in a household as she has become more timid since her mom went into the hospital. We take the hard cases- the dogs everyone else gives up on-kill list survivors, rescues, shelters and owners giving up on dogs that just need training, time and the right adopter. We do right by every dog that comes into our program. ... They are fully trained by our good friends at Allied Dog Training and come with free handling lessons for life. Not many do that and because ALL of YOU know our dogs are safe and well cared for you move on to the dramatic pleas where a dog isn't safe. Please know every single dog listed here has been with us for over 5 months. ALL WERE AT RISK. Please consider adopting / fostering or sharing because we can not save another life until we find placement for these dogs. Blessing is a NYC ACC Kill list survivor for biting the leash. She is dog friendly, no cats and and older kids because she can be bossy (no guarding and extremely good with everyone she meets) . This little hippo is more than ready for a foster or forever. Rocky needs a leader and warms up to women quicker to men. A female low traffic home without other pets would be best. Rufus is a young GSD that is insecure He needs a leader- adult home and no other pets. Ferris is dog friendly- needs a confident human to continue to show him the ropes. Argos is a 6 year old beagle. Former doggie daycare attendee. We are looking for an in home trainer for him. In his previous home he displayed "guarding space issues in the house" and we need him to go to a home trainer before adopting him out again. He is a love but we need to set him up for success. Trixie is a 13 year old Maltese whose owner recently passed away from Cancer. We are trying to find her a home to live out her senior years. She is a lap dog, loves treats and to play fetch.... Her house breaking needs some work as her owner was too ill to take her outside and did not crate her- she wanted the comfort of her beloved dog. She was crate trained at one time. She is currently living with another dog but tends to bark at him and not engage in play. She is fine around cats. Fine around children. No resource guarding. She takes a thyroid pill once a day and is experiencing some hearing loss. She is a happy go lucky girl who misses her owner very much. Trixie is located in Mohegan Lake, New York. Black Cat Appreciation Day- we celebrate Raven who was adopted by a previous adopter about a month ago. We pulled this beauty from the Yonkers Animal Shelter . She is doing very well in her home as you can see from the pictures!... Living with Achilles (T&C pup) another cat, a human sister and her awesome parents! Welcome Avery to Town & Country K9 ResQ ! Avery is a 14 month old female chocolate lab. She is super social and good with all people and animals. ... Her previous home was not a good fit due to her energy levels- we were asked to help and we did. Avery is learning leash manners and basics with our friends at Allied Dog Training. She will be vetted tomorrow by our good friends at Visiting Veterinary Practice of Westchester and we are praying for 100% healthy! She will also be micro chipped and given appropriate vaccinations. If all goes well she will be the star at our adoption event Sunday 25 October at our friends at Pet Valu Yorktown Heights NY. You can come meet her from 11-3. Adopters are required to have a fenced in backyard and another dog. Avery needs a friend and the space to run, romp and play. She has lived with cats in her previous home. Labs have high energy and require continued rules, structure and boundaries to thrive.
