We dedicated a Farmingdale Park today in honor of Nassau County District Legislator, Nassau County Police Sergeant and two-time Vietnam War Purple Heart hero Jo...seph Belesi, who passed away at the age of 73 from Parkinson’s disease. Prior to his service as a County Legislator, Joseph Belesi served as a Nassau County Police Sergeant and Vice President of the Superior Officers Association. Named a Daler Hero by the Village of Farmingdale, New York, he was extremely active in the community - serving many years as a Little League coach, belonged to the Sons of Italy in America, the Knights of Pythias, and Italian Americans in Government Service. He was also a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and gave back to the community as a member of the Massapequa- Farmingdale Men’s Club. See more

We are always so happy to hear from previous adopters. Fiona was one of our long term residents who found the perfect home 8 1/2 years ago. Its the best gift we could get here at the shelter to know that she's still her crazy old self. We wanted everybody to know that Fiona's picture is most definitely still hanging here at the shelter and always will be!

Rico is 7 years young, as vibrant as ever and excited to live out his golden years in his forever home. (516) 677-5784
BEWARE of SCAMS: Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Councilman Lou Imbroto caution residents who leave donations in collection bins to make sure the organizations behind those bins have good intentions. The Town has been removing illegally-placed bins after learning that donations were allegedly being improperly collected and sold for profit.
