Good morning, everyone. Apologies for sending dreary news on a dreary day, but the Treble Choraliers will NOT be resuming in-person rehearsals on September 7th. The rise of Delta and concerns among the membership necessitate cancelling our rehearsals. For the time being. No definite start-up date has been chosen, but we're hoping that October may see us get together in person, for some informal rehearsals and "flex those singing muscles" sessions. We'll keep you informed.
As we begin Week Five of our Life in the Time of Corona, perhaps it’s time to take a little break from the practical (i.e. handwashing, coughing etiquette, etc.) to wax philosophical. And no one waxed better than Winston Churchill. What is the use of living, if it be not to strive for noble causes and to make this muddled world a better place for those who will live in it after we are gone? How else can we put ourselves in harmonious relation with the great verities and co...nsolations of the infinite and the eternal? And I avow my faith that we are marching towards better days. Humanity will not be cast down. We are going on swinging bravely forward along the grand high road and already behind the distant mountains is the promise of the sun. We must and will get our world moving again. We must and will start to work, and school, and play. We must and will recover, and help others recover, from the economic devastation of this crisis. We must and will swing bravely forward toward that brilliant sun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsM_VmN6ytk
Ah.....life in the time of Corona! As we all (try to) adapt to the ever changing regulations, it's vitally important to remember three things: Be kind; Don't hoard; Wash your hands. Like so many organizations throughout the country, the Treble Choraliers is on hiatus. We'll be back in business and singing our collective blood-pumping organs out, as soon as we get the green light from our friends at the NYS Department of Health. You may wonder about our Spring Concert which is scheduled for May 1st; I wonder too! Let's just wonder together, shall we? We have a FABULOUS program planned and we dearly want to present it our loyal audience of friends and family. We'll let YOU know as soon as WE know just what's going on! So in the meantime, stay safe, stay well, and WASH YOUR HANDS!

We are so saddened to inform our loyal friends and sponsors that our Spring concert has been cancelled. But, fear not, we will resume our Fall rehearsals in September and prepare a fantastic Winter concert for you. Thank you for your understanding and your continued support.

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the death of June Simons, a much-loved member of the Choraliers family. June lent her rich alto voice to our choir for two decades. She loved to sing, and her enthusiasm for music (and life) was contagious. June was game for performing any song or silly dance, and delighted in wearing "lots of bling" with her concert attire! Our hearts cry for her family; she will be dearly, dearly missed. June loved folks songs. For her, a stanz...a from the "Peter, Paul and Mary" tune "Come and Go With Me": They'll be singin' in that land Voices ringing' in that land. There'll be freedom in that land Where I'm bound. They'll be singin' in that land They'll be singin' in that land Freedom in that land where I'm bound. https://www.frenchblasl.com/obituaries/June-Barnett-Simons
"Today is the first day of the rest of your life." Trite but true. "Tonight is the first night of the Treble Choraliers Super Spring Season!" True and FABULOUS!! We have a terrific concert program lined up and the most mellifluous of melody makers to sing it! And if you are a woman who enjoys choral singing, come join us and give it a go! Rehearsal begins tonight at 7 pm at the Catskill United Methodist Church on Woodland Avenue. See you there!
I'm taking off my correspondent's hat for just a moment and passing it to Bob Gaus, a member of our "brother" chorus, the Catskill Men's Glee Club. He has a very intriguing invitation for all of us!
Hello singers! Hoping you might join us for this annual Christmas celebration! We will rehearse this Tuesday, January 7th from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at St. Joseph's Church (choir loft), 242 Wall St., Kingston, NY 12401. After singing several familiar Christmas Carols (SATB) we will then review several Christmas anthems/octavos i.e. "Hallelujah Chorus", "Night of Silence", "Breath of Heaven", "Mary Did You Know", "See Amid the Winter Snow", "Ring Christmas Bells" and the Vivaldi... "Gloria." The bell choir from Redeemer Lutheran Church, Kingston will again join us. Additionally, Greene County resident Alison Davy will be our guest soloist! On the day of the performance, singers will report to our new parish center, 235 Wall St. (just up the street from the church at the corner of Pearl and Wall Sts.) at 12:30 for a run-through. If you cannot make it on Tuesday, it's fine to come for the run-through on Sunday. Preludes begin at 2:15, Concert at 2:30 and you are done by 4:00! A poster of the concert is attached. Please share it on your Face Book, email and other social media. Please spread the word to your fellow singers, churches and anyone who loves choral singing. Last year we had over 75 exuberant singers. I expect more this year as we sing out the Christmas season! There are two pieces that you may not be familiar with singing. Here is a great way to learn each of them: We will be singing the Vivaldi "Gloria in Ecelsis Deo" Click on your parts You Tube link. This is like having a private lesson! PLEASE TRY THIS! This is like having a private lesson! The conductor is a bit scary and you do not have to record yourself! Our version (not on this recording) will be step down to make everyone's vocal cords feel better!
