June is traditionally a tranquil month but Lake Ontario is constantly breaking traditions. 45 degrees and North wind over 20 knots. Small craft and we are tied to the docks. Maybe tomorrow. Good sheepshead bite today for a family from Jacksonville.

Fishing has been pretty decent in Pine Island sound most days. We’re having some issues with red tide but the upcoming cold front should break that all up and set us up for a good January. We are taking a nice mix of fish and so far all our guests have been happy. Wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Groundhog Day! Grinding away. The leaf hatch is killing us but that comes with Fall. Move around, cover water, mix it up flies, eggs, beads, spinners, jigs. Good people, good food, good fishing. Thank you to all the great anglers that book with me every year. I wouldn’t be here without you.

Been slacking on some photos, been really busy and free time is hard to find these days. Anyway fishing remains great in the Douglaston salmon run. I believe we will see another good push of kings perhaps on the next front coming in. There are a few trout each day but no big numbers that I have seen yet. All in all it has been a great season I have about a month to go and then hope to spend a few days in the Treestand. 2020 is booked full but I have some days in April and Ma...y for steelhead and of course booking Florida and next summer on the Lake. Slow pick today but Nick landed this nice coho a brown and a few fresh kings A pleasant day with a good crew of guys all around us and everybody had a good time.

Day two for the Maestro. It was slower today but we had plenty to keep us busy. Steve was pretty worn out from yesterday but was still was able to land a bunch. I had my first mate Jeff Richard Wallace II come along to experience what the DSR is all about and he had a blast!

Steve was on point all morning with a stellar landing percentage. Great day and great people to fish with.
