A positively heartbreaking story that happened in our lifetime. It's our responsibility to learn and understand the history and current day experience of Black people in America. This Juneteenth we challenge everyone to dig deep, read, explore and try to understand. And this story from 1981 during the actual celebration of Juneteenth and freedom, the devastating loss of three vibrant teen boys while in the custody of three officers, shows the horrific effects of racism, unne...cessary policing and the drug war... And also, the lack of justice that is most often the case. We all have a responsibility to create change, to right the wrongs of the past AND present day inequalities. Within this story you'll also see the strength of the Black community. As an example, "a woman from Fort Worth named Opal Lee. In 2016, when she was 89, she set out to walk from Texas to Washington, D.C., to publicize a campaign to designate Juneteenth as a federal holiday. Last year, Lee collected 1.5 million signatures on a petition in pursuit of that goal, and in Congress, Texas senator John Cornyn and U.S. representative Sheila Jackson Lee filed legislation to take Juneteenth nationwide. Earlier today, Joe Biden signed legislation officially recognizing Juneteenth as a federal holiday. This means that all federal employees - and those in workplaces that follow a federal holiday calendar - will be given the day off with pay. In observance of this day, the entire Truth Pharm team will be given the day off and the office will be closed. For our Black community members, we know that this is not justice. Even so, we hope that this day allows you to feel seen. We h...ope that this day allows for rest and restoration, and we hope that this day continues to be cause for celebration of community, solidarity, and power. For the rest of our community, we hope that you recognize the significance of Juneteenth and use this day as an opportunity to reflect. How are you using your inherent privilege to protect and uplift your Black neighbors? If you struggle to answer this question, use this day to explore the opportunities that exist for you to do so. And then go out and do it.

"In August, biotech company Moderna set an estimated price for its Covid-19 vaccine at $32-$37 per dose for some customers (the vaccine requires 2 doses). This price is higher than any other Covid-19 vaccine so far, even though 100% of Moderna’s development costs were covered by US government funding. Since Moderna was nominated, their lower bound for vaccine price has declined, in part due to public scrutiny. Moderna’s...
