Happy New Year! While we are not holding our typical guided First Day Hike and we'll miss seeing everyone, you are still welcome to go out and enjoy the trails with your family. Be sure to stop and pick up your First Day Hike 10th Anniversary commemorative button and KIND Energy Bar. Wintery trail conditions exist and the parking area is not accessible, please exercise caution. For an enhanced experience download the Avenza App and the free park map - it will give you up to the minute location information. Here's to happiness and health in 2021! https://parks.ny.gov/parks/179/hunting.aspx

NY state parks, trails, and grounds at historic sites are OPEN to visitors for outdoor recreation and enjoyment. All entrance fees have been waived. While these... outdoor spaces remain open, many of our large indoor facilities, such as nature centers, visitor centers, and historic houses are closed. All public events and programs have been canceled. Visitors should remember they are in a public park. While we are making increased efforts toward sanitation, each surface is only as clean as the last person who touched it. Therefore, you should take steps to protect your health by following the CDC/NYSDOH's for preventing the spread of colds, flu, and COVID-19: Try to keep at least six (6) feet of distance between you and others. Avoid close contact, such as shaking hands, hugging, and kissing. Wash hands often or use a hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available. Avoid surfaces that are touched often, such as doorknobs, handrails, and playground equipment State Parks is closely coordinating with the state's emergency preparedness and response efforts. As the situation continues to develop, we will take any necessary actions to protect visitors and staff health. We will provide updates periodically on social media, and at parks.ny.gov. We will also be available to respond to questions or concerns regarding visitation at [email protected]
