October marks Careers in Student Affairs Month! 2020 is a year like no other, but what remains consistent is TPE's commitment to providing critical resources and connections to support you throughout your career trajectory. Given today’s landscape of hiring freezes and furloughs, redistributed workloads, and new job responsibilities as a response to COVID, the how-tos of the #SAGrad and #SAPro job search have changed. With fewer available jobs, graduate students and new pro...fessionals must look differently towards opportunities within Student Affairs, including searching for Higher Ed/Student Affairs adjacent roles. TPE is proud to launch a NEW (and free!) 4-part series geared towards 2nd-year graduate students will provide a jumpstart to the job search process. Sessions will provide practical tips for job search readiness to help participants stand out among other candidates. Come to one, come to all! Topics, dates, and registration link in each event. Learn more and register. (Sessions will be recorded and made available on the TPE YouTube page.) https://www.theplacementexchange.org/events

*REMINDER* Please plan to join the ELP GSA for TODAY’S upcoming panel on strategies for success in remote environments! Monday, September 28, 2020 from 4:00-5:00pm Join us on Zoom at https://buffalo.zoom.us/j/95612341490 and use meeting ID: 956 1234 1490... Many of us are trying to balance a number of roles while working and taking classes (for some of us, solely) from home amidst a global pandemic. Come and hear from several ELP students who, despite having experienced challenges in the transition to remote environments, are crushing the organization of their different responsibilities so that can be more easily managed. Panelists will share tangible tips and strategies that they have found success with in this new remote environment. Please note that there are two panels to give students multiple opportunities to join us! Each session will be hosted by different panelists so feel free to attend both, if your schedule allows! If you are unable to make today’s panel, please join us on Thursday, October 1 from 7:00-8:00pm on Zoom at https://buffalo.zoom.us/j/2924162645 and use meeting ID: 292 416 2645 Special thanks to our panelists, Chrissy Daniel, Giambattista Davis, Chris Kohler, Ryan Taughrin and Ashley Cannon-Zelasko for sharing their time with us!
