UC&SV Route 25.12.2020

Bridge department is making steady progress on the bridge at MP 290.79 that the beavers collapsed for them last year. Concrete forms in railroad style using wood were constructed to replace the destroyed cut stone abutments from 1896. Engineering department raised the height of the bridge 10".... The pour was completed on October 30, 2020 and the forms stripped the next day to reveal the completed abutments.

Signal depertment had the Frontier Town Train in work service on Friday. They are using it to pull a CTC cable up the line to Dropp Road. This is the beginning of the pull.

Bridge crew has been working along on the new abutment forms at MP 290.79. Dropp Road crossing still awaiting final approval.

Work is progressing nicely in the car shop. Dick came over to sample the decorative edging for the Frontier Town car. We are painting it in Lackawanna passenger colors. Darrel has a little more work to do on the brake rigging and we should be able to test the brake system later this week Meanwhile, on the West end, work is underway on the new bridge abutments. Our neighbor's cows are doing a site inspection on a warm summer evening. We are raising the bridge about 10"

UC&SV Route 20.10.2020

Various activities taking place along the way lately. The Frontier Town car has its new sheathing installed now along with a new Hemlock floor. The original railings were retained and the original roof has been installed on top of the new steel frame. Steps have been added that these cars never had since they used high level boarding platforms in their operation.
